Houston, TX:  Houston-based Encore Health Resources, providers of information technology consulting services to the healthcare market, announced today that industry veterans Julie Morrison and Paul Murphy have joined the firm.  Julie Morrison is Client Services Executive, and Paul Murphy is Service Area Leader for IT Strategy.

Julie Morrison has twenty years of healthcare experience and has led many complex, client critical engagements. She has created business cases and done system selections for multiple clinical information systems. Her implementation background includes Cerner, Epic, and Eclipsys projects at customer sites ranging from large academic medical centers to community hospitals to outpatient surgery centers. Morrison has helped healthcare providers reduce medication errors, create physician portals, implement CPOE, and develop clinical surveillance/data analytics and quality improvement solutions.

Before Encore, she was Principal, Clinical Consulting at Computer Science Corporation (formerly FCG) and has served in various Delivery and Client Relationship Management roles in the past at Perot Systems, GE Medical Systems and SAIC. She has been an active participant in both the Colorado and Arizona Chapters of HIMSS, along with the American Medical Informatics Association.

Paul Murphy has managed many vendor selection engagements, with particular depth in enterprise electronic health records (EHR), clinical information systems, revenue cycle systems, and ambulatory EHR. Before Encore, he was a consultant and senior manager at KSA Health Care Consulting Group, along with manager of operational planning at New York Blood Center. He has been a speaker at HIMSS and an active participant in CHIME.

His IT strategic planning background includes environmental assessment, development of strategic options and detailed roadmap development across the full landscape of IT organization and services including governance, budgeting, resource allocation, IT services, application portfolio planning, and infrastructure planning for clients that have included complex academic medical centers, IDN’s, community and public health systems. He has also supported facility planning work from both an IT and an operations perspective.
