N. Clair Detraz
Partner, Corporate Planning
N. Clair Detraz is Partner, Corporate Planning, for Encore Health Resources. With more than 30 years of contributions to the healthcare IT industry and 12 years experience as an academic medical-center CIO, she is responsible for Encore’s corporate planning, marketing, and communications. In this capacity, Clair leads the development of Encore’s strategy and planning in coordination with the corporate leadership team, with whom she works to plan, develop, and communicate differentiated, innovative solutions and services for Encore’s rapidly expanding client base.
Throughout her career, Clair has worked closely with leading healthcare vendors and industry organizations such as the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), HIMSS, KLAS, the University Health System Consortium, and The Advisory Board to understand client needs and translate them into viable services for clients. Encore will leverage her extensive experience in operational and performance improvement to streamline its operations and services, further enhancing the value it delivers its clients.
Prior to joining Encore, Clair served as Vice President for CTG Health Solutions, where she was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, the Quality Management Office, and served as CTG’s liaison to CHIME and KLAS. Before her appointment as Vice President, Ms. Detraz served as Managing Director for the Management Consulting, HIPAA and e-Security CTG national consulting practices.
Clair also formerly served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Assistant Hospital Administrator at the University of Kentucky. Her contributions at the University spanned 25 years, with the last 12 years as CIO. During her tenure, she held progressively responsible IT management positions. Her responsibilities also included telecommunications systems, management engineering and hospital policy development.
Her extensive background includes serving as the chair of the University Health System Consortium CIO Council 1996-1997 and as a founding member since 1990, a member of the HBOC Strategic Advisory Council from 1992-1997, and a board member of HBOC’s user group, IMPACT from 1991 to 1994.
